1972 DOLPHINS TEAM SIGNED HELMET - JAKE SCOTT DON SHULA
1972 DOLPHINS TEAM SIGNED HELMET |
No one could have predicted an undefeated season. How could they? It had never been done before, and it has not been repeated since: an unbeaten and untied season that culminated with a victory in Super Bowl VII. The team was vindicated, thoroughly overcoming their humiliating Super Bowl VI loss of 24-3 to the Dallas Cowboys of the previous season. The 1972 team is now viewed by many as being the best professional football team to take the field, and as teammate Larry Csonka once said, "Perfection ends a lot of arguments." It's hard to argue with 17-0-0, and few try. From their now-enshrined in the Hall of Fame coach Don Shula, to the six superstars that would be elected to the Hall of Fame, to their nicknamed "No-Name" defense, the 1972 Miami Dolphins were a true powerhouse. We offer a wonderful collection of 19 members of that storied team, who have not merely signed but added the inscription 17-0, Jake Scott adding Super Bowl VII MVP "72" Jim Langer, Larry Little, Bob Griese, and Paul Warfield have all added their Hall of Fame membership and year of induction. Coach Shula is also included but did not note his Hall of Fame status. This authentic Ridell kra- lite converted helmet lamp is exactly what the dolphins used minus the interior suspension webbing. The 1972 manufacturing date adds to the value of the helmet as does the early design of the Dolphin logo. LOA from PSA/DNA; description courtesy of Heritage Sports.
