ALMA RICE (b. ?) illustrated childrens's books during the 1940s.

This is the original gouache painted cover art for Hansel and Grethel, published by McLoughlin Bros., Inc. in 1943 as part of "The Little Color Classics" #849. This piece has minor corner wear but, otherwise, it is in excellent condition and has an image area of 7.75" x 11.75 " with an overall size of 12.5" x 20". A copy of the printed book is included with this item.
