EARL MORAN (1893 - 1984) studied at the Chicago Art Institute, and later started his own company specializing in illustration art and, eventually, pin-ups, starting with "Golden Hours" in 1933. After Life magazine ran an article about him in 1940, he became highly in-demand as a pin-up and cover artist. After a bitter divorce, he moved to Hollywood and began painting starlets, including a young Marilyn Monroe. By the early '60s he had retired to paint fine art subjects, though he often did commissions for collectors. This original pin-up nude pastel is entitled "Evening Glow." It is undated, useage unknown. The piece measures 33.5" x 26.5" and the art is in excellent condition. It has been tastefully framed. From the estate of Charles Martignette.
