MILTON CANIFF (1907 - 1988) is one of the most influential artists ever to work in the comics field. He drew a succession of wildly successful comic strips, starting with Dickie Dare. He created Terry and The Pirates in 1934, and one of the most legendary adventure strips of all time was born. Tired of the iron hand the syndicates held over him and his work, Caniff left Terry in 1947 and launched Steve Canyon, a similar adventure strip with a square-jawed hero.Steve Canyon ran for 41 years, and died with the artist in 1988.

This original art comic strip is dated 8-19-43. This piece is in excellent condition and has an image area of 21.5" x 6.5".
